All's well that ends well.

This Cobra 2000 came in with the story that a spare-bedroom tech had dropped his screwdriver into the radio.

With the power on.

There was a "SNAP!" and then no more receiver audio.

And no modulation on AM. Sideband transmit still worked.

As someone used to say "Well there's your problem!"



This tech's only response was "I guess the next one you want fixed will be free", as he shrugged and wondered what was wrong.
